A bit of what I'm looking for:
+ Manage Instagram/Facebook
+ Possibly manage Mailchimp campaigns
+ Would love them to be Bay Area based (but definitely not a must)
Have any of you attempted to hire out this work? Good experience? Less than good experience? Interns? I would LOVE love LOVE any feedback.

Agree with @JamesOng that college students can be an adept and very affordable - possibly free - resource for managing social media accounts. Trading social-media savvy for work experience seems like a pretty good deal to me Email marketing is a bit of different skillset, but if you're willing to invest some time in on-the-job training your successful candidate should be able to do double-duty.
How concerned are you about turnover? Are you looking for short-term help or a longer-term commitment?
I literally just registered on quickbooks with updating a few things to connect to taxes and figured why not look into community for any hints or ideas. I wanted to personally reach out and share with you an amazing point of contact who has been doing this virtually for many successfull businesses over 15 + years. I know without a doubt her costs are a heck of alot more affordable than highering the big names, they are known for what would take the normal person a week to do they complete within couple days and without a doubt they compliment everyone they partner with to make a great fit!

Thanks so much for your input and you pose some great quesitons that I hadn't necessarily considered. I think I'm happy to start with short term interns to start the growth and consistency of postings and then could branch out to a long term manager of my social. I'm not afraid to invest some time and training for the right fit! Ultimately, I want it to be mutually beneficial for an intern match.
