Sales Boosting Hacks

Happy happy Friday! It's me, stopping by again to share a helpful article I came across. Many businesses have seen an increase of online sales recently. So in relation to that, I thought I'd relay these hacks to help you grow e-commerce sales. Here's what business.com had to say:

  • Spread brand awareness with a giveaway
It might be a little difficult for consumers to make a purchase from your business if they don't know it exists. One thing we can all agree on is that free stuff is pretty cool. A great way to spread the word about your brand is to offer a giveaway. This type of giveaway is done by choosing one of your products, a bundle, or a gift card, and then have those who'd like to participate enter the giveaway by sharing your post on social media and tagging their friends. As more people get involved, you'll start to see more engagement, traffic, subscribers, and sales. You can increase this type of engagement even more by creating rules that allow for multiple entries for different actions. For example, someone could get up to three entries if they follow your brand on social media, share your post, and subscribe to your email list.

  • Focus on cart abandonment
Now that you have people visiting your website, they're browsing, shopping, and adding items to their cart. If there are any frustrations that come along with this, one would be that site visitors will sometimes add items and then abandon their carts before actually purchasing. Avoiding cart abandonment can be done by asking visitors to complete the email sign-up before adding items to their cart. Once you've got their email on file, if they leave before checking out, you can shoot them a friendly reminder message to let them know they still need to complete their order.

  • Find ways to sweeten the deal
Personally speaking, I've made purchases that I normally wouldn't have based solely on the fact that there was a sale, or I had a discount code. Offering potential buyers a sweet deal is a great way to encourage sales. A couple of examples that come to mind are a percentage off for first time purchases, a thank you code for maybe a fourth or fifth purchase. Additionally, you may even consider setting up a referral system. Regular customers receive a referral link to share with their friends, and then when the friends shop through that link, each person receives a store credit. These incentives are an easy way to generate even more traffic to your online store.

  •  Set and review SMART goals
Ensuring consistent, continued growth can be achieved by setting, reviewing, and ultimately reaching SMART goals. In this instance, SMART stands for:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Time-Bound
To put it simply, establish realistic goals to work toward based on specific research, and always have a time frame in mind. Without a time frame, important goals can fall through the cracks and you may lose sight of current trends.

Once you reach a pattern of growth, don't forget to continue each point mentioned above. Building your brand, increasing sales, and growing in this competitive environment is all about consistency. Progressive developments make way for long term connections. If you have any hacks you'd like to add to the list, I'd love for you to drop a comment. Have a great weekend everybody!
