Company payroll ended, cannot print last 941 from Desktop Pro 2020

Company payroll coincidentally ended just prior to Intuit's discontinuation of support for my stand alone desktop  payroll  subscription; therefore I did not subscribe the company to the online payroll.  Why Intuit would discontinue supporting payroll in the middle of a quarter makes so sense but that's another discussion. I need to print & file the last 941 for the company and guess what, I can't!  Sorry Intuit but this is just wrong especially after shorting me about 3 weeks on my previously paid subscription.

Company payroll ended, cannot print last 941 from Desktop Pro 2020

Hi there, @jlsic.

I'd like to provide you with some information regarding QuickBooks Desktop 2020 service discontinuation policy.

After May 31, 2023, all versions of QBDT 2020 will be discontinued. This means that after this date, you won't have access to live technical support, and certain Intuit services that integrate with the product and rely on internet-related features will no longer be available. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Moreover, discontinued versions won't receive the latest critical security patches and updates.

This is the reason why you're unable to file the 941 tax form. As a workaround, you can print your payroll reports directly from the program. Then, manually fill up the 941 tax form using the information from these reports. Once completed, you can submit it to the IRS through traditional mail.

Here's how to access reports:

  1. Go to Reports and select Employees & Payroll.
  2. Choose the payroll report you want to view.
