A pleasant day to you, @Symbiosis.
I'll assist you in turning off the sales tax settings so your invoices won't show as taxable.
The sales tax setting won't turn off if you have invoice transactions with sales taxes. So you need to delete them.
To do this, you can run a Sales Tax Liability Report to show transactions that have sales tax and save their info before deleting. Here's how:
Once done, let's turn off your Sales tax. Feel free to follow these steps:
Check out this article for more info: Turn off sales tax in QuickBooks Online.
Once done, recreate the deleted invoices using the transaction details you saved. Or utilize the audit log as a reference.
If deleting past invoices with sales tax isn't a good option, we can set your product and services non-taxable so your future invoices won't have sales taxes. However, this won't change your past invoices. You can read this article on how to perform it: Edit a product or service item.
Also, check out this article to know how to see your best sellers, what's on hand, and the cost of goods: Use reports to see your sales and inventory status.
Leave a reply below for additional questions about managing your invoice transactions and sales taxes. I'll be willing to help. Have a good one.
The problem is that there are a lot of invoices I accidentally had 0% taxes on previously and then when the switch went in effect, some of my invoices still have that even though I don't have sales taxes and it is set at 0%.It will take me all day to fix the. problem using this method and I don't have time. So now it is giving me a warning every time I make an invoice and it really is very disruptive!
