Before inactivating a state in Payroll Settings, ensure no active employees are assigned to that work location, @keyzoo.
- Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
- Under Company and Account, click Work Locations.
- Select the exact state, then mark the Inactive checkbox.
- Hit Save.
If you have an active employee in that certain place, making inactive is unavailable.
