How do I make a one-time Federal PayrollTax Payment?

Hi everyone,

Base on a change from Monthly to Semi-Weekly filing, how would I generate a one-time (true-up) Federal Payroll Tax Payment within QuickBooks Online Payroll i.e. not within EFTPS.gov?

Many thanks...

How do I make a one-time Federal PayrollTax Payment?

Thanks for sharing your concern in the QuickBooks Community, @marcjp.

The option to generate a one-time federal tax payment is unavailable in QuickBooks Online Payroll. We can only pay the amount based on what's showing in the Payroll tax center.

Since there's an adjustment to your filing frequency, I'd suggest paying your taxes outside the program. In case you need to adjust your payroll liabilities for these periods, I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Payroll Team.

Here's how to connect with them;

  1. In your QBO account, select the Help button.
  2. Go to the Search tab.
  3. Next, click the Contact Us button.
  4. Then, enter a brief description of your concern (ex. Make a payroll adjustment) and click Continue.
  5. From there, select either Start a chat or Get a callback.

You can also run payroll reports to help you keep track of your employee information, business finances, and payroll details. For detailed steps, check out this article: Run and manage payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll.
