Query about Sales Tax of Illinois

Hello Community,

I hope you are doing well!

As a company falls under the sales tax of Illinois with the Gross Sales: $38093.50 fully taxable.

Sales tax calculated by State site is $2381.00,

However the QBO calculation is $2380.84.

Due to which the QBO is considering an over payment of $-0.16, and i am not getting option to adjust this tax, as (-Ve) values are not being accepted by QBO in sales adjustment as below attachment.

Please suggest how this can be corrected.

Thank You!

Query about Sales Tax of Illinois

Hello DeebSheen,

I hope you are doing well!

Thank you for the response on the query.

However this is not income as we are paying more than what Quick book has calculated.
ie: this difference of amount is not collected form the customer via invoice.

For cases where sales site calculate the less tax values due to discounts given by agencies compared to teh value calculated by Quick book, the difference is surely an income to the company.

As of not for this case i have created one "other expences : Sales tax adjustment" account and recorded this expense.
