Hi
I need to correct an F1099 submitted on Jan 23rd but the status is "InAgency" and when I looked into the QB guidance it says that Check later for instructions.
What does it mean?
Hi there, @VAlentina2. I've got some information to share about amending 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online.
When the status of a submitted 1099 form is ''In Agency'', it usually indicates that the form is still being processed or pending for review by the IRS. It means that you have to wait until they are reviewed and verified by the relevant agency before creating an amendment or corrections. Also, the Check back later for instructions means that we're still finalizing the entire procedures to process and file the 1099 amendment in QBO.
Once you receive an email from the IRS, you should follow the specific instructions for corrections provided by them and submit it through the program.
However, you can directly contact the IRS if you want to follow up on the status of these forms.

I appreciate you coming back in the thread, VAlentina2.
I'll add details regarding your 1099s filing status in QuickBooks Online.
You will receive a confirmation email approximately a week after the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have processed and approved your 1099 E-File forms. The confirmation may not be received until mid-January or later.
In addition, you can contact the IRS to follow up with your 1099s filing status.
Moreover, you might want to review this material for guidance if you have already e-filed your 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms and need to make any corrections: Correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks.

When will instructions on how to amend 1099's that were submitted 12/2023 and accepted by the IRS be available? I have been sitting in a Chat for assistance regarding this for over 45 minutes, other than asking a lot of irrelevant questions the Chat assistance has not given me any answers to my original question.

Allow me to share some insights about your concern when will the instructions on how to amend 1099's that were submitted on 12/2023 and accepted by the IRS be available in QuickBooks Online?
At the moment, we don't have any update on when the feature to e-file corrected 1099 will be available. It will be available in production sometime after January 2024. Unfortunately, we don't have an exact date for when the form will be available in QuickBooks Online.

For 2023 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms: If you e-file your 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC with us, beginning in 2024, you can submit amended 1099 forms through QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Contractor Payments, or QuickBooks Payroll. Check back later for instructions.
All other years: You will need to work directly with the IRS to make a manual amendment to your 1099 forms. Use these IRS instructions to do so. Once corrected you will need to provide the corrected return to the recipient or contractor yourself.
