Are you able to export the Tax ID for Vendors? I added the field to a report, but it brings in a strange hyperlink rather than the actual data.

Hello there, @jakek1.

It is essential to have a clear and exportable list of vendors along with their tax IDs for effective tax reporting. I will provide guidance on how to export this data from QuickBooks Online.

The Vendor Contact List report in the modern view displays tax IDs in an encrypted format. Also, some users doesn't have the option to switch into classic view to show in a decrypted format.

If it's possible for you to revert to the classic view, I recommend making that switch. Doing so will enable you to see the tax IDs in their unencrypted state and directly export them in the report.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the search bar, type Vendor Contact List.
  3. Click Switch to classic view.

     4. Hit the Gear icon.

     5. Select Show More below, then find the Tax ID.

     6. Click anywhere to reload the page.

To generate this report, click the Export icon and select your preferred format. Then, store the file in a location that is easily accessible, such as your Downloads folder or desktop.
