Hi there, @bparkins.
If your company doesn't deal with sales tax and you want to remove this feature, you must delete all transactions associated with sales tax. Let me share some information about this process.
Firstly, since unticking the taxable box from their sales transaction won't work, you'll need to delete these first before you'll have the option to turn off this feature. Also, before removing these entries, I encourage you to take note of these. For guidance and additional information, you can check out this article: Turn off sales tax in QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, if the ability to turn off sales tax is unavailable after following the aforementioned steps from the article, I recommend sending feedback to our engineering team. Your insights are important to help us enhance our product functionality.
To send one, here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon menu at the top, then select Feedback.
- Enter your comments or product suggestions.
- Click Next to submit feedback.
Furthermore, for detailed guidance on managing your business and financial records, you can read this article: Run a report in QuickBooks Online.
The comment section is always open if you have other concerns regarding sales tax in QuickBooks. We'll be sure to address it as soon as possible.
