I am trying to print my 1096 form for 2023 but there is no button to do so. I spent an hour on the phone with Intuit trying to figure out what was going on, only to eventually find out that it was a global issue and they were working on a fix. Then I got a notification that my ticket had been "resolved" but the issue listed on the ticket wasn't even close to the issue I mentioned having. And, surprise surprise, the issue is not resolved.
How can I print a 1096 in QBO now? There is no button other than "View Summary" which is not the 1096 form.
I understand the importance of printing your 1096 forms, Miro. Rest assured, I'm here to help you achieve your goal. However, QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Contractor Payments don't provide Form 1096.
If you are filing electronically, Form 1096 also isn't required by the IRS. In this case, you can print your 1096 forms outside QuickBooks. Enter the same info based on your different IRS tax forms.

Hi Mark,
I was able to print the 1096 from QBO last year without issue. Is this something new for 2023? I only have 2 vendors that I supply 1099's to, so I'd rather proceed with the free method as opposed to paying QB to e-file it for us. As such I need the 1096.
I recognize the importance of printing your 1096 forms, Miro. Rest assured that Intuit is doing its best to provide excellent service to everyone. However, recent updates currently don't provide the feature to print your 1096 forms directly from QBO.
You can manually download 1096 forms from the IRS website and enter the summarized information from your 1099 forms to print them outside QBO.

Most of us live in states where we have to file our 1096 and 1099s with the state as well as the IRS. We still need to print 1096s from Quickbooks in order to file with the state. It is ridiculous that we have to hand write a 1096 to send to state.
It appears that QuickBooks is catering less and less to the small business and trying to do more for bigger businesses with more money. I continue to be disappointed in the lack of functionality that QBO offers.
Agree, Quick Books is getting greedy. We have printed in the past and now they eliminate that option. Don't say it is because of the IRS. We have clients that have under 10 -1099's
Why couldn't QB online let us print the 1096 but let us print the 1099? It's doesn't make sense. QB is getting money hungry and want us to file online. Very disappointed with QB online!!!!!
