Today when I went in to run my sales tax for this month in Minnesota. All of a sudden we have an Ohio tax liability account and it is saying that we need to set up a filing frequency for Ohio. We have never shipped anything to Ohio. It will not allow me to delete the liability account that Quickbooks created. How do I get rid of this. WE HAVE NEVER SHIPPED ANYTHING TO OHIO.
Hello there, @echanken.
If you create a sales tax for a tax agency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), it will automatically generate an account and display a report of the sales tax for each transaction.
Make sure you haven't established a tax agency for Ohio. Also, please know that it isn't possible to make the account inactive since it's a default one. But you can make it inactive if you accidentally set it up.
If it works, I recommend clearing your cache and cookies to update any website preferences that might be affecting the program's functionality. If not, you can switch to a different compatible supported browser. There could be a brief issue with the QuickBooks version you are now using.
I also encourage you to contact our Support Team this way they can take a closer look at your situation.

We did not create any sales tax agency or ANYTHING in quickbooks related to Ohio sales tax. It appears Quickbooks set it up on its' own. Now I can't process MN sales tax because it keeps asking me how often I am going to pay Ohio sales tax.
I appreciate you reaching out again and confirming that you didn't create any sales tax agency related to Ohio sales tax in QuickBooks, echanken.
Still, I recommend reviewing if someone has made this setup or made a change. You can use the Audit Log feature to track the activities of other users in your books.
If it's verified that no one set this up, please give us a short call, as advised by my colleague, so we can investigate why the system keeps asking you how often to pay Ohio sales tax even though you didn't set this up in your books. Here's how:

Interesting. In the audit log it shows that I have set up a number of new tax groups. I can 100% guarantee you I did not set them up. Quickbooks must be setting them up automatically. I will call support. This has created quite a mess for us.
