SWITCH FROM ADP to QUICKBOOKS - STATE FILINGS

I have canceled my services with ADP. They were managing my state taxes for payment in Q2. ADP will issue me the funds. I need QuickBooks to pay my Q2 taxes in full. How do I do this?

SWITCH FROM ADP to QUICKBOOKS - STATE FILINGS

Hi, @MCLS. I can help you in transitioning from ADP to QuickBooks Online (QBO) for your state tax payments.

You can import most of your employees' info and pay history details from ADP to QBO to accurately calculate payroll state tax for the second quarter. Then, set up your bank account to pay for the payroll taxes. I'm here to help you through this process to ensure everything is handled correctly.

First, let's import your employee and payroll history from ADP to QBO to accurately calculate payroll state tax for the second quarter. To accomplish this, complete the Get ready to pay your team section in your QBO payroll's Overview page. You can follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account as the primary admin.
  2. Go to Payroll. Then, select Overview
  3. Click on Start Onboarding. Then, fill in or answer the questions about your business and prior payroll.
  4. From What did you use to run payrollselect Run by ADP as your prior payroll service.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  6. Select each employee to add/review their Social Security numbers, bank account info, and review/update home and work location addresses.
  7. Select Done.
  8. Complete the rest of the tasks.

Once done, follow Step 2 of this article for the detailed steps of connecting your bank account where ADP will issue the funds to pay for the Q2 payroll taxes: Set up your company payroll for direct deposit.

After completing the process above, you can find the details of the due state taxes and pay them on the Payroll tax page.  You can refer to these steps below:

  1. Go to Taxes in your QBO account.
  2. Select Payroll Tax
  3. Find the due state taxes under the Action Needed section.

If you need to print paychecks or pay stubs in QBO after this, let me add this article as a guide: Print paychecks and pay stubs in Online Payroll.

We'll be here in the Community if you have further concerns about setting up payroll in QBO. We'll do our best to assist. Take care!
