Hi all,
My client's sales tax reports are totally messed up. Every time we try to enter in a shipping address so that sales tax calculates correctly, we get an "unexpected error -37112" message. Nor are we able to update the sale location. As a result, we're only entering in the billing address and I now have to go in and manually correct their sales tax reports to delete all the sales from states where they don't do sales tax.
Between myself and my employee, we have literally spent about 5 hours on the phone with QBO support. No one is able to fix it. Because we're overseas (we work with expat-headed US companies) and can't log in from the US QBO REFUSES to have their tech team review.
I'm giving this one more chance, but if we can't get this solved by the next sales tax report, I'm going to advise my client that they're better off dumping this piece of garbage, and moving to Xero. We've been wanting to try that out anyway, and I'm honestly willing to cover their cost for a year on the program, just to make this sales tax problem go away. And if that goes well, we'll likely eventually move our other 30 clients as well.
QBO support--no, I'm not going to make a suggestion to the tech team. Functioning sales tax modules are a basic. And, as noted above, we've already spend hours and hours with your so-called phone support. If you can't make a suggestion on how to actually fix the problem, please spare yourselves and everyone else, and don't bother answering.

You need also to calculate the conversion costs. Unless you consider to convert data to QB Desktop and use the trial version to access their historical data for good. You can start from scratch in Xero or only converting the current fiscal year to lower their conversion costs.
I recognize the difficulties you've faced, CFOSecrets
