W2/W3 Efiling - how to know number of employees included?

I got all the W2s printed but had to reprint a couple of them. When I went to file online, I thought I had all the employees checked but after I hit submit and got the confirmation, it took me back to the interview screen and it only showed 1 employee selected. How do I know how many employees were included in the submission? If just 1, do I need to start a new filing or edit the existing one?

W2/W3 Efiling - how to know number of employees included?

Warm welcome, marinej. I am here to assist you in viewing the list of your W-2 forms, so you'll see how many employees were included in the submission.

To find the form:

  1. Hover to the Employees, then click Payroll Center
  2. Select the File Forms tab from the Payroll Center.
  3. In the Filing History section, select the E-Filings tab.
  4. Toggle between the Saved Filings and E-filings tab to refresh the list.
  5. Select the View link in the Audit Trail columns for more details.

On the other hand, you can contact our payroll support team for further information regarding how many employees are included in submitting the W-2. This way you'll be able to know as well if you'll need to e-file W-2 for the employees that were not included.

Moreover, you can run a report to view the total payroll wages, taxes, deductions, and contributions.

Whenever you need my help concerning the W-2 form, I'm always here to assist you. Kindly click the reply button and enter your queries.

W2/W3 Efiling - how to know number of employees included?

Thank you for your reply. The saved reports are all showing correctly but it is my understanding that these are simply PDFs of the information and are not indicative of the information that was actually submitted. The audit trail does not tell me anything more than the form was submitted. I printed the W3 for my records and it indicates the full number of W-2s, but how do I know how many were actually submitted to SSA?
