Why should I then have to enter a password to access Quickbooks? Why not take it a step further and protect each individual bank account with a password? How about requiring a password if you want to search for a transaction? How about requiring a password every time you click "File"? There's no end to the insanity.
"Passwords require at least 7 characters, including one number and one uppercase letter". Oh yes, that makes passwords instantly more secure. How about "Passwords require at least one SpongeBob SquarePants reference and one Kanji character"? Now that's secure!
Why not use single sign-on (SSO)? Have your developers look into it. It's basically been the standard in computing for a decade.
