I'll share a way to fix the beginning balance and get rid of the older credit card subaccount transactions.

If you deactivate an account with a balance, QuickBooks creates a journal entry automatically. This transfers the remaining balance to another account, allowing you to continue to access past transaction data for reporting purposes.

You must restore the account first if you want to edit/delete those transactions. After that, you can analyze the account and correct it to a zero balance before deactivating it again. You can also create offsetting transactions to correct the balance.

Here's how to make the account active again:

  1. Go to Settings βš™, then Chart of accounts.
  2. Select the Gear icon βš™ next to the printer icon. Then click Include inactive.
  3. Find the account you want to use again, then hit Make active.

Alternatively, you can edit the opening balance, make a deposit affecting the open balance to increase the balance, or make an expense/write check transaction affecting the open balance to decrease the balance. Before doing so, I recommend contacting your accountant to ensure that your books remain accurate.

Once everything is in order, you can now reconcile your account. Check out this article for your reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to add any details below if you need further assistance managing your accounts. I'll be around to help you.
