I'm here to guide you on unlocking timesheets so you can make changes to your employees' recorded work hours.

 

First, a user with permission to approve timesheets may have already approved them, which is why the timesheet shows as approved. To avoid similar incidents in the future, we suggest reviewing the settings of your team members and restricting access to specific features.

 

Additionally, some actions lock the timesheets to prevent any change or duplication. If you need to edit or delete a locked timesheet, you can use the Unlock Exported Time tool. However, please note that you can only unlock the time locked within the past 90 days.

 

Here's how to unlock time in QuickBooks Time:

 

  1. Go to the QuickBooks dropdown, and then select Unlock Exported Time.
  2. Choose a start and end date.
  3. Choose which employees to unlock time for.
  4. Review the timesheets, then click Unlock Timesheets.
  5. In the notice that displays, press Confirm unlock.

 

From there, you can unapprove the timesheets to make edits.
