I understand the challenges you're experiencing trying to reach out to our support while living abroad, Emily. Especially when faced with operating hours that don't align with your time zone. I'm here to make sure you can connect your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To start, can you confirm which bank QuickBooks Online (QBO) cannot connect to? Any other information will help us get closer to a solution and will allow us to see if there's an ongoing investigation into this.
Let's ensure that we're linking the correct account. To do this, let's log in to your bank's website and copy the bank URL. After this, follow these steps:
1. From the left menu, click Banking.
2. On the Banking page, select Link account.
3. In the search field, enter the bank's URL you've just copied.
4. Select your bank. You might have to go through these steps again to find the correct one.
5. Enter your bank login on your bank's website, then select Continue.
Additionally, check to see if there are any system issues at your financial institution. Also, make sure that your financial institution doesn't have any system issues. It's one of the reasons why we can't link it because it can block the connection between your bank and QBO. By logging into their website, you can see if they have issued any alerts.
I've also included this article to help you understand how to categorize transactions to ensure your financial records are accurate. Please visit this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
