Let me share some insight into why you're experiencing a disconnect from your other AMEX account when connecting the additional one in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
When connecting a bank account to QBO, the application solely depends on the bank's policy regarding how many accounts they allow to connect simultaneously. However, with AMEX, please note that the bank only permits one connection per QBO company.
If you have multiple cards under one AMEX login, only one can be connected to a QBO account at a time, which is why connecting one card results in the other disconnecting. Hence, I suggest reaching out directly to your financial institution for feedback on allowing customers to connect multiple accounts in QBO.
To get the other AMEX account transactions into the application, I suggest working with your accountant for the best approach. They may allow you to import your transactions manually or have a preferred way to handle both entries and connections.
