Hello hevans119,

Welcome to the Community. I'm here to help you fix the error so you can enter your payroll history in QuickBooks Online.

Can you share a screenshot showing the exact error message when entering payroll history? We've received reports about a similar issue but not the exact error you mentioned above.

While waiting, I recommend performing some browser troubleshooting to isolate and fix the issue. Since this has been happening for a week and the problem persists, the browser's stored cache may be full.

It can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks Online, such as getting errors and unusual results. I'd first suggest logging into your account using a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If you can enter payroll history without issues, switch to the regular browser and clear its cache. It helps to restore the default setup of the browser. If private browsing doesn't work, use other supported web engines to get the best and most secure experience with the program.

We also have payroll reports you can use to help enter prior payroll. For more information about it and the data you need to include in your report, check out this link: Learn about reports to use to enter prior payroll.

Don't hesitate to keep us posted about the result of the troubleshooting. We'll be sure to get back to you if you need further assistance resolving the error in QuickBooks. Have a great day.
