I understand that you need to transfer your payroll data from QuickBooks Online Payroll to Quickbooks Desktop for Mac. Let me assist you.
The standalone payroll products allow you to export the data and have them imported into your Quickbooks Desktop for Mac company file. We have to make sure to set up the preferences first by following these steps:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll settings.
- Click the Pencil icon on the Export section.
- Select QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, then make sure the accounts on the Export preferences page match the accounts on the Chart of Accounts from your Quickbooks Desktop for Mac company file.
- Tap Done.
Once you're ready to export the file, go back to the Gear icon, Payroll settings, and click Export transactions in the Export section. This will download an IIF file that you can import to your Quickbooks Desktop for Mac company file.
