Thanks for letting us know, bitboyenterprises.

Yes, that's weird. I immediately checked for an ongoing issue after knowing about your concern with the error OLSU-1011, however, I wasn't able to find one. Let's run some troubleshooting steps to fix it so you can carry on working on your QuickBooks responsibilities.

Several reasons cause this error are the following:

  • You have pending alerts on your online bank account that you need to acknowledge
  • Your bank’s info isn’t updated on the Financial Institutions Directory (FiDir) in QuickBooks
  • There might be a problem with their servers
  • There’s a problem with your Internet connection
  • Your QuickBooks Desktop isn't updated.

Before we proceed, let's ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. This ensures you have the latest features and fixes. Then, let's make sure that the default accounts are set up under your personal and company preferences.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to the company file as Admin and switch to single-user mode.
  2. From the Edit menu, go to Preferences and select Checking.
  3. Click the My Preferences tab and select default accounts for all four options.
  4. Go to the Company Preferences tab and select default accounts for the two options: Create Paychecks and Pay Payroll Liabilities
  5. Click OK.
  6. Try to set up the account again for online banking.

If the issue persists, let's manually update your Financial Institutions Directory (FiDir). I'll show you how:

  1. Locate the fidir.txt file on Windows 10, 8, and 7. The file location for QuickBooks Pro/Premier is C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks XXXX\Components\OLB\branding\filist while for QuickBooks Enterprise is C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions XXXX\Components\OLB\branding\filist.
  2. Right-click fidir.txt, then select Rename.
  3. Change .txt to .old, then click outside the field to save the name change.
  4. Select your QuickBooks version to get the latest file: (20222021, and 2020).
  5.  On the "Save As" window, select Desktop, then Save.
  6. On the Desktop, right-click the fidir.txt file, then choose Copy.
  7. Right-click the Start button, click File Explorer then This PC.
  8. Open the filist folder from step 1.
  9. Right-click anywhere in the folder, then Paste.
  10. Close and reopen QuickBooks.

I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support if the problem continues. They can gather log files and submit a ticket for more investigation to determine the root cause of this.
