I'd also feel the same when encountering the error in QuickBooks Desktop, @Fix2015.

QuickBooks error 80070057 occurred due to damaged company files. I've got some troubleshooting steps to help you fix your issue so you can get back to working on your data.

First, we can open the company file correctly by following the steps below. Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the company file.
  3. Click Open.

Then, if your file is located on a remote computer, learn how to access it correctly. Also, ensure we always have QuickBooks Desktop on the latest release to keep your software up-to-date, so you always have the latest features and fixes.

From there, verify that QuickBooks has enough permissions to function effectively. I'll show you how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Right-click the QuickBooks icon.
  3. Select Run as administrator.
  4. If your company file did not open automatically, select the company file, then choose Open.

Then, you can move the file to its default location and run the QuickBooks File Doctor to repair it. For a more detailed step-by-step procedure for this process, please follow Solutions 4-5 in this article here: Fix Error 80070057 (The parameter is incorrect). This includes a solution to resolve the error manually.
