I appreciate your prompt reply, Beth. Let me provide more insights regarding migrating from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes. You can still proceed with the conversion process if you choose to stick with your current version. However, we recommend you update QuickBooks to the most recent release for greater success or to avoid issues and unexpected results. To start:

  1. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop from the Help menu.
  2. Tap on Update Now, then Get Updates.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks.
  4. Tap Yes.
  5. Follow the onscreen pop-ups to complete the process.

When you're ready to transfer your data to QBO, use the resources from this site as your reference: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you can learn more about the steps you should take after the process to ensure your data is ready to go from this article: What to do after you move from QuickBooks Desktop for Windows or Mac to QuickBooks Online.

If you have other questions while transferring your data from QBDT to QBO, please leave them in the comments section below. I'm only a few clicks away from assisting you once more. Have a wonderful day!
