The Ship Date field is usually for transactions that involve the shipment of physical goods, which is less relevant for Estimates for providing quotes or proposals. I know how important this is to you and your business. Currently, this is still a limitation of the feature. As we value your suggestions, I recommend sending your feedback to our Product Development Team. Here is how:
- In your QuickBooks account, click the Help option.
- Select the Send Feedback Online option.
- Choose Product Suggestion.
- Enter your feedback.
- Click the Send Feedback button.

However, if you want to add a date that serves a similar purpose as a Ship Date on Estimates, as a workaround, you can create a custom field on the Estimate form that serves the same purpose as the Ship Date. To do this:
- Go to the Lists menu.
- Select the Templates dropdown and click New.
- Choose Estimate and click OK.
- Click Additional Customization and go to Columns.
- Put a checkmark on either Other 1 or Other 2. Ensure to put a check on both the Screen and Print boxes. You can also enter names under Title, like Ship Date depending on your preference.
- Click OK.
Once done, you can update your Estimate template to include this column.
- Go to the Lists menu and select Templates.
- Locate your Estimate template and click Edit.
- Select the template you created.
When creating an Estimate, manually enter the desired date into the column you've added. It will serve as the date you want to reflect on the Estimate.
