Thank you for reaching out to the Community, vmatson. I'm here to help and provide steps in fixing the error when importing your accountant's copy.
There are 3 common reasons you're unable to import your accountant's copy.
To begin, make sure the right company is open and not upgraded.
Make sure to open the company file with the name Accountant's Changes Pending in parentheses at the top.
However, if you have the right file open but it doesnβt say Accountant's Changes Pending at the top, youβll need to enter the changes manually.
If the file lets you open a newer version of QuickBooks, ensure you have a backup copy before the upgrade. Make sure the accountant's changes are still pending.
If you have the right file opened and did not upgrade it, but can still not import the changes, proceed to saving the files locally.
Save a copy of the file on a local drive. It could be on a USB flash or server drive. You can save the file under .QBY format.
