Let's figure out the cause of the grayed-out and fix it to keep you going with your task, Jeffrey. I appreciate the steps you've performed to rectify the problem.

To fix this, make sure Microsoft Excel is installed on your computer, and if you're using Microsoft Office 365, use the installed version, not the browser version.

Also, ensure your QuickBooks version is up to date and that it meets the system requirements. Each QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version is compatible with particular versions of Microsoft Office. Check the system requirements for your QuickBooks version (202120222023, and 2024). You can also follow Microsoft's instructions to fix Microsoft Office.

Alternatively, toggle your Windows UAC (User Account Control) settings on and off. It can help reset any obstacles preventing the export feature from functioning correctly.

Here's how:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Type User Account Control Settings into the search bar and open the corresponding result.
  3. Move the slider to the Never Notify position.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Restart your computer to apply the new settings.

If the problem continues, proceed to Step 5 in this link to resolve any issues you encounter while exporting to Excel: Fix export to Excel issues.
