I'm participating in this discussion to assist you with your inquiry regarding the non-renewal of your QuickBooks subscription, SCase135.

If you choose not to renew your subscription, you can update your billing information to dummy details in the Customer Account Management Portal. This way, the system won't automatically charge your card. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMP) as an admin user.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop from your products and services.
  3. Select details next to your QuickBooks Product.
  4. Click Edit next to your Payment Method.
  5. Update your payment details.
  6. When you’re done, hit Save and Close.

Note that you'll be unable to manage your company if you choose not to renew your subscription. You'll only have view-only access a 1 year after your subscription ends. After that, you'll be locked out.

While your company file is still on your computer, reactivating the subscription will be necessary to manage and modify your company data. It is advisable to export your datasave a backup, or create a portable company file from QuickBooks Desktop and store it on a flash drive or an external hard drive. This way, you can restore it using a trial version as a workaround.

To better understand how to enter view-only mode following the expiration of your subscription or if you choose to cancel it, you may refer to this article for assistance: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your QuickBooks Desktop renewal, please post them here in the Community. We're always available and willing to help you. Have a good one.
