Even when inactive, the "Unassigned" bin location will appear in QuickBooks Desktop's cycle count reports because QuickBooks automatically places unassigned inventory into this bin. With that said, the program is working as designed, and there currently isn't a way to remove it from the list.
I can imagine how frustrating this could be when managing your inventory. I think this is the perfect opportunity to send this suggestion to our Product Development Team.
