Let's resolve the error you've encountered so you can enter journal entries or add accounts seamlessly, @JohnHoodCPA.

The code 19062 00238 is an unrecoverable error you've encountered when importing an accountant’s changes into a client’s company file. There are a couple of solutions that can help you fix this.

Step 1Restore a recent backup or the backup created when importing the accountant's changes. This will let you restore the accounting data before you run into this error. To do this:

  1. Go to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.
  2. Select Restore a backup copy and then Next.
  3. Choose Local Backup and then Next.
  4. Look for your backup company file, click to open it.
  5. Hit Save once you're done.

Step 2: Run a verify and rebuild data on the client's file. The Verify Data will identify any data issues within your company file. Then, the Rebuild tool will self-resolve it. Check the steps below:

Verify data:

  1. Go to File, then Utilities and choose Verify Data.

If it will detect an error, proceed and Rebuild your data:

  1. Go back to the File menu and then Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
  2. Choose OK if you’ll receive a message to back-up your company file.
  3. After creating the back-up file, the Rebuild Data utility will run automatically.
  4. Click OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.

Step 3: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This process can help fix known issues, add features and enhancements. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top to choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. A new window appears, select the Update Now tab.
  3. Mark the Reset Update box to remove previously downloaded updates and hit Get Updates.
  4. Click OK to continue.
  5. Once completed, restart QuickBooks to kick off the installation and accept to install the new release.

Step 4: Recreate the change file in the Accountant's copy in QuickBooks Desktop. Access and open the file to create a working file (.QBA).
