I have created a job estimate with the estimated number of billable hours to be performed by an employee and I have enabled progress invoicing. My employees enter their time and we do periodic progress invoicing based on actual work performed. I know I can "Invoice for Time & Expenses" as the first step ,or I can create an invoice and then add the unbilled time to it. Regardless of the starting point, I need to be able to show the progress against the Estimate on the actual invoice and I can't seem to do it based on actual billed time. When I create the invoices using time, it doesn't update the estimated hours amount. On subsequent invoices I need to be able to show the previous amount billed along with the overall % complete. I appreciate the help! I have Quickbooks Premier Professional Services Edition 2019

I am having trouble creating an invoice that updates an estimate using billable time entered in a timesheet. I'm using Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 (Professional Services edition) We are a consulting firm. I create a proposal for the overall project using the appropriate service items, but then need to invoice for specific billable time performed by my people. When I create an invoice for the estimate, I can either enter progress against each line item from the estimate and/or I can also add unbilled time to the invoice. However, what I can't do is create an invoice that updates the progress based on the billed time. My invoices need to include the date, work performed (Item), hours, rate and subtotal and total. I also need to show progress against the estimate.
