Did you sign up for payroll in your QuickBooks Online account? To activate payroll in your existing account, follow these steps:
- Go to the Payroll menu and click Employees.
- Click Get Started.
- Choose the type of service that you want to use.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
I would also recommend checking out the QuickBooks Online Payroll Hub. It shows you how to do everything from creating a paycheck to adding, editing, or inactivating employees.
If you're unable to access payroll, let's perform basic troubleshooting to isolate the issue. Let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
- Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
- Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
- Safari: Command+Shift+N
If everything is fine, clear your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You may have accumulated too much historical data stored in your browser that caused this issue. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser.
