So without further ado... lets introduce your Hosts:
My name is David Carty. I've been working with QuickBooks for several years and in a variety of roles, including here in the Community. Business and finance have long been a passion of mine and I'm currently working on my Masters in Accounting. My experience in the Community over these last two years has been very special to me. It's been wonderful to see the collaboration that takes place and the resolutions that are created. I've previously described this area as a space designed to help new users, advanced users, and everyone in between. The opportunity to help serve the needs of small businesses in new ways is something that I'm greatly looking forward to.
My name is Michael Laws. I live near the heart of the Appalachian Mountains and I'm currently studying Management Information Systems. I've always been fascinated by the worlds of Business and Computer Sciences alike, which has fueled my desire to master QuickBooks in preparation of building a career.
I've been working in the Community for a couple years now and can't even begin to count the things I've learned. These hospitable professionals and ambitious business-owners come from all walks of life and have been a great inspiration for me to break out and find my own success. I value clear, grounded conversations and any opportunity to learn something new. I'm looking forward to sharing these things with anyone who is interested in growing their mind or their business.
Hi! I'm Morgan. I grew up in a small southwest Virginia town, graduated with a degree in Communications, and now exploring the business world. I'm currently a Community Host and member of the QuickBooks Team. You can find me in this space, engaging in discussions about small business endeavors, and offering assistance to questions about QuickBooks software. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my husband and toddler son. I also enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors, photography, and painting. It's great to have you here in the Community. I can't wait to hear about your business!
Feel free to introduce yourselves in this post, we look forward to getting to know everyone!
Hi! My name is David Henry. I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania but currently live in southwest Virginia. I studied Mechanical and Industrial Systems engineering and after graduating I started my own greeting card company www.cardisle.com with a few of my classmates. We've been busy ever since growing the company and I have assumed most of the financial responsibilities for our growing organization. When I'm not working I love exploring the outdoors, cooking sourdough bread, and woodworking. I'm new here and am looking forward to learning more about the community soon.
It's great to have you in the Community, David.
Congratulations on embracing the entrepreneurial spirit and launching your own business! I'm sure it's been an incredible feeling to see the company go from an idea to now.
If you get a moment, we invite you to introduce yourself to our Talk About Your Business topic. Please also feel free to discuss the challenges that you've encountered and how you've responded to them.
For example, I'd be curious to know how you came up with the idea of having artists directly submit designs online and receive royalties on sales. I'm sure there are a plethora of stories that have accompanied the journey started by yourself and your classmates.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you ever have questions or need anything.
PS: I realize that greetings are your specialty, so hopefully mine wasn't too bad.
Nice to meet all of you. Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but couldn't find another way to ask about applying to be a speaker at upcoming Quickbooks Connect events. Can you point me in the right direction?
I am new to the community but am trying to move my Quickbooks PRO 2014 from a windows 7 computer to a windows 10, version 1903. Under Windows 7 version of quickbooks I don't have the Utility Move QuickBooks to another computer. Can you help me?
