All of a sudden when I generate my sales reports its showing both Cash and Accrual accounting method, though previously all of my sales have been accrual based accounting

How is this even possible to have both accounting methods active at the same time? I have not changed any settings and already checked my business settings and they're still set to accrual. Please help! I can't generate correct sales reports for my team like this!

I want to ensure this is taken care of, @sweets0716.

Let’s log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on a private window (incognito) and open your report from there. This way, we can check if it's caused by stored cache files.

QBO uses a data cache to swiftly load the page faster. When piled up, this causes issues that affect the performance of your account.

Using an incognito window doesn’t store any cache files. Thus, it’s a great tool for identifying the issue easily. To start, you can use these keyboard shortcuts in opening a private window:

• Press keys: Command + Shift + N (Safari browser)

• Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome browser)

• Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge browser)

If the data shows correctly in your report, I’d recommend clearing your regular browser's cache. This will delete all saved data files from your browser and refresh the system. If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can check if this is a browser-integrated issue.

I've shared this link that you can utilize in personalizing your reports seamlessly: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me in the loop if you need further assistance managing your reports. I’ll be around ready to help you. Have a good one and keep safe!

This still did not resolve the problem. The products/services sold are being categorized as both cash and accrual accounting method for sales. How is it that this is happening? My business settings are set to accrual only, I'm not able to generate accurate sales reports for my sales team to work off and build goals etc.

I know how important to generate the right data on the report, sweets0716.

You can choose whether your report is cash or accrual only in QuickBooks Online. It was uncommon that it shows both cash and accrual when you run the sales report. As I checked, we haven't received any similar issue from the other user.

Since we're unable to pull up an account, I would recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Online Team. They'll be able to access your account and submit a ticket for further investigation.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help (?).
  2. Select Talk to a human.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click I still need a human, then Get help from a human.
  5. Choose a way to connect either via Chat with us or Have us call you.

I've added this article to learn how to export your report to Excel: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online. You can personalize your report by exporting it and remove unnecessary data to display only the information you need.

You can leave a comment below if you need further assistance with your report. We're always here to back you up.
