Closing an 8 year old Intuit account

I went to log in to my current Intuit Account but when I entered in my email address, Intuit offered my current account login and an account I apparently last used in 2016 under a different login name, but associated with my current and longtime email address.  How do I close out that old account and username?  Can't find it under Account Management. Thanks

Closing an 8 year old Intuit account

Hello there, Peter.

I appreciate you coming to the thread and clarifying what you conducted. I'll provide details on how the QuickBooks accounts you've used work on your Intuit account page. I'll also ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further on this matter.

Please note that all active and inactive QuickBooks accounts are displayed on the Products & billing tab. You will then be able to select the account you used in 2016 and change the username to something different from your current account from there.

However, if you have already visited the mentioned section above and are still only able to view the new account, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support team. They're the best support group for such inquiries as they can request account information. This allows them to determine why your current account login and an account you last used in 2016 display when logging into your current Intuit Account.

Lastly, you can read this article if you need to see different sign-in tips and troubleshooting in QuickBooks: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.

I'll always be around in this forum if there's anything else you need further assistance with managing your account sign-in credentials. Just keep me posted below, so I can get you covered. Stay safe and have a great day ahead, Peter.

Closing an 8 year old Intuit account

Good evening, @PortsmouthPeter

Welcome to the Community!

Sounds like you have two accounts that share the same email address, but has a different User ID. Could this be the case?

In the meantime, check out this guide on how to update or change your Intuit Account Sign-in information

I'll be just around the corner when you're ready!

Yes. That appears to be the issue. There was an old sign in from 2016 and then there's a new account set up within the last few months. Sharing the same email address. I need to get rid of the old one

Yes, that is the issue. I apparently set an account in 2016 and then stop using it when Quicken separated from Intuit. I set up a new account with the same email address within the last year or so, probably to order Quicken supplies. How do I get rid of the 2016 account under the same email?

I did look at the account management link you sent, but that only shows me the new account that I'm currently using and logged in with

Thank you. I looked at the account management but not the products and billing. I'll go check that tab.

Tried the Products and Billing tab, doesn't list my previous accounts. I'll just leave it be. Thanks for your help
