forgot password, don't have access to email or phone number

I forgot password. I do not have access to the email account I signed up with or the phone number when I registered it. Have spent over 5 hours on the phone with support and still can't open QB. Have done everything that I was told to do. What do I do now?

If you are unable to login to your CAMPS, Support won't help you. Consider purchasing a 3rd party password removal service as the last resort. Contact us in private for details.

I'm here to help you get access to your QuickBooks company file again, @Beetle Bailey.

 

 We can use the Automated Password Reset tool to reset your QuickBooks Admin password in any version of QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Download the Automated password tool for QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select your version of QuickBooks Desktop. The version of QuickBooks you last opened your company file with must be installed on your computer. If it isn't, you won't be able to reset your password.
  3. Fill in the QuickBooks license number and business info used when you registered QuickBooks and then select Next.
  4. The phone number must be 10 digits with no extension at the end. Don't use a 1 (+1) at the beginning. The +1 automatically adds to the phone number if the United States is set as the country. (This is an ongoing issue we're working on.) In this case, you must change the country to Select Country and then manually edit the phone number and save. If you get a message that says the details you've provided didn't match, login to your Intuit account at https://camps.intuit.com. Make sure these pieces of info are correct:
    • Authorized user's name and email address (name is not case sensitive)
    • Primary Mailing address (especially zip code)
    • License number (under Products and Services; doesn't need a dash)
    • Phone number (under Account Details). Ensure that all info entered must match the info in our system. This includes the email address, main business phone number, and zip/ZIP code of the primary contact on the account. The access token will be sent ONLY to the email address of the primary contact.

 

Once done, accept the license agreement. The Automated Password Reset tool will auto-download. (If the auto-download didn't work, select Download now.)

 

In case it asks you to Run or Save the file, choose Save and save it to your Desktop. Then follow these steps below: 

 

  1. Run the Automated Password Reset tool and then enter the token number received via email.
  2. From the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, select the same QuickBooks version.
  3. Click Browse for Company File, then select the company file you want to reset the password for. Ensure to enter the correct Company File Admin User Name (if it's different from the name "Admin").
  4. Enter your New Password and then Confirm New Password. Note: Create a temporary password only as QuickBooks will ask you to change the password again when you open the company file.
  5. Click Reset Password to complete the process.

None of the things you told me about work. I don't remember the old phone number, so it doesn't work. I haven't had that phone number in years. I only use QB for personal use now. I have tried every password that I can think of, nothing works. It is getting to the point that I will start over. I have talked to support for over 5 hours and have not got anything done. Got any more suggestions?

I have gotten into the camps section and updated everything, but it will not let me change my password. I have spent over 7 hours with support and they are no help. I give up. They want me to buy an upgrade.

Where would I go for the 3rd party password removal? I'm about ready to just start over.
