Hi, our logo prints badly in Reports (Balance Sheet, etc.) - it's OK on the screen before we PRINT, but preview and printing show it squished/compressed... Can you help?

Thanks for bringing up this concern in the Community space. I'm here to provide tips to help fix your printing problem in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

A company logo is substantial as it represents the identity and values of the brand. If you have a situation printing logos, ensure to check if you meet these requirements to prevent printing errors. :

  • a .gif, .bmp, .png, .jpg, .jpe, or .jpeg file
  • smaller than 10 MB
  • 24 bits or less in bit depth (or color depth)
  • Since rectangles aren't compatible, use square-shaped size.
  • Apply the standard RGB color space.

If you're still facing the same situation, follow the troubleshooting steps below to fix your print settings.

  1. Open the Report you want to print.
  2. Select Print.
  3. Once the preview screen opens, select the Printer icon.
  4. Within the printer dialog box choose Properties.
  5. Select Advanced. (It might be a button or a tab depending on the version of Windows you are using.)
  6. Increase the resolution (for example, to 600 x 600).
  7. If there is a Dithering option, select Fine.

If the issue persists after following the steps above, I recommend clearing your cache and cookies to update any website preferences that might interfere with the program's functionality. If not, you can switch to a different supported browser that is compatible.

Additionally, if none of the provided steps work, follow these articles further to rectify any common printing issues in QBO:

Hello Michaela, this is a great answer, and puts the reader onto the right track for a solution. (In our case, we have a rectangular logo image, and you advise here that they are not compatible, so we can fix that.)  The only suggestion I would make so that yours is an even more complete answer/solution, is to include the location of our logo within our QB profile or settings, so that infrequent users like me can readily upload a new one logo file without having to look it up or ask someone.  Thank you again, though!
