Thanks for the reply but I’m not sure I follow. My wife is the one that runs her self employed business. The quickbooks product is already marked self-employed. We filed ‘married filing jointly’. My email is the one that is tied with TurboTax. So basically TurboTax assumed that I am the one that has the business, but it’s my spouse.
Hello, oatmealr82.
I hope you and your wife are doing fine today! I appreciate taking the time to get back here. I'll clarify my colleague's answer and give details on how to handle the accounts.
If you and your wife use QuickBooks Self-Employed together, then she'll want to create a new account. Follow the steps provided by MaryLurleenM. The idea here is to enter both of your income and expenses separately.
I take it that you've already enabled joint filing in TurboTax. In this case, you can send the QuickBooks Self-Employed data to TurboTax. Your wife would enter her own data to your TurboTax account.
I'd recommend letting her contact the TurboTax support so they can guide her in entering her data. She can post her questions here.
If your wife is the only one using QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can share your login credentials with her (tied with the TurboTax bundle). She doesn't have to create a new account. You have the option to change the email in QuickBooks. Since both programs are synced, this will also change the credentials in TurboTax however.
If you decide to change the email address:

Hello. I have a similar situation. I just filed "married filing jointly" using my TurboTax account and earned a year of free QuickBooks. I don't have a side business, but my wife does. How can I "transfer" this QuickBooks subscription to my wife (under a separate email, login, etc. for her) and maintain my current TurboTax account as is?
Hi there, jwp65.
Thanks for stopping by the Community, at this time, the option to add another person to your self employed account isn't available. However, you can change your email, user ID and password to what your wife would use, this isn't the same as transferring ownership of the subscription, but it's a work around none the less.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post them here. Thank you for your time and have a nice evening.
Thank you. But if I change email, user ID, and password in QuickBooks, it will also change it for TurboTax, correct? So if I change user ID in QuickBooks so my wife can use it with the main email address she uses daily and I then want to review 2019 tax documents in Turbo Tax, I'd have to use her email, password, etc.?
Ya this is a horrible feature. To support married households then limit the ‘free’ feature to just one login makes zero sense. It’s another example of diminishing the role of women by pretending they don’t exist in a marriage - by product design no less. I’ll probably switch to the $20 plan but only because my wife also will be using an accountant. So she needs a login for that. Shameful from my perspective.
This is a terrible service. I run a business and my husband is head of household. I pay $15 a month for qbse and can’t import into TurboTax.
Let me make it up to you by making sure you'll be able to import your file into TurboTax, quazi42.
When you import data from QBSE to TurboTax, it will automatically go under the name of the owner of the account.
That said, you will need to match the setup of the TurboTax account to ensure the data is imported.
You'll want to follow the steps provided by my peer @eran about the option of changing your email in QuickBooks as an alternative.

Let me know if you have additional concerns about importing your data into QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help.
