How can I turn-off multi-factor security for signing into QB?

Let me guide you on how to turn off multi-factor security, don056.

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Tap Sign In & Security from the left menu.
  3. In the “Two-step verification” section, hit Turn off.
  4. Enter the code.
  5. Select Continue.

Please note that we're adding this additional security to make sure your account safe and secured,.

How can I turn-off multi-factor security for signing into QB?

Please reread my message.  It states that I have already seen Intuit's procedure for turning-off multi-factor authentication, and it does not work.  I also talked with support on the phone, and they were not able to get it to work, so they told me to submit a message that would go directly to engineering, but it apparently did not get to them.

Please reread my message and forward it to the next tier of support.

Thanks,

Don

I appreciate your prompt reply and for sharing additional details about this issue, @don056.

Since the issue persists after going through the steps provided by my colleague above. I suggest reaching out to our support team.

I understand you’ve already contacted them. However, it would be best to reach out to them as they have the tools to securely look into your account and escalate this further. They can also help you in raising this concern with our engineering team.

In addition to this, I’d recommend checking our QuickBooks Blog page. Here, you’ll stay current on the latest news and updates and product enhancement of QuickBooks.

How can I turn-off multi-factor security for signing into QB?

So, you want me to repeat something that I have already done?   I have already contacted support, as you know.  Their special tools may have given them the specifics of my account, but their solution was to provide the details of my concern in the message box, which I did. Chris told me that it would go directly to engineering.  Can you tell me if it did?

Please escalate this concern to the next tier of your support group.  As an outsider of your company, I am unable to do that.

Thanks

Thanks for your swift response, @don056. I understand we need to get this resolved right away.

I'd love to check if your submitted request did get to our engineering. However, we're unable to review the case from here since it requires us to pull up your business information. That's why we encourage you to call us again to double-check if it did.

On the other hand, if it did go through successfully, our online support team will keep in touch with you to give you updates about the progress of your submitted request.

For future reference, you'll want to sign up for our QuickBooks System Updates to be on the loop in case we have issues or system outages.

Let me know if there's anything else that you need help with, @don056. I'm always around here to listen and help in any way I can.

Turn off this piece of junk multi-factor authentication!!!!! Your software worked fine before whoever decided this would be a good idea. As another user suggested, your engineers clearly do not use the software.

Who's bright idea was this in the first place? Your software worked fine, now it is more of a headache and waste of time to use than anything. FIX THIS

How can I turn-off multi-factor security for signing into QB?

In my Intuit account two-step verification is turned off while I still need to use two-step verification. This whole system is rubbish, it doesn't work properly.... I tried to get the code 4 times this morning - no emails, and thus no access to my account while I never turned on two-step verification - it's stupid...

Hello there, @VincentHS.

The point you're making makes so much sense to me.

You can get a call back from our live support by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help icon, and then Contact Us.
  2. Type in your concern in the What can we help you with? field,
  3. Click the Let's talk button.
  4. In the Choose a way to connect with us section, select to Get a callback.

How can I turn-off multi-factor security for signing into QB?

Thank you @SarahannC, this morning, I already spent over 30 minutes with someone on chat, and they informed me that you couldn't turn off two-step authentication... For me, it doesn't make sense but okay. She told me when you turn off two-step, you still have two-step, but when turned off, you get an email directly instead of the option of text or email.
