It's nice to see you again in the QuickBooks Community forum. I'll provide steps to make sure you're able to link your two Quickbooks account with the same login credentials.
Once both accounts have a different email address or user ID, you can invite the other company file to use the same email. You'll have to open your one QuickBooks account and choose the email address you want to use for all your companies. For example, we call this email A. Then, the email you no longer wish to use is email B.
Here's how:
Once done, you'll receive an email notification. Then, make sure to enter the same password or credentials. Once configured, you can now see a switch function (Switch company) under Profile in the Gear icon.

I am not able to add another user, looks like my account is basic and I don't want to upgrade to another tier for this.
Is there another way of linking the 2 accounts?
Hey there, @ML45.
Thanks for following the thread. I'm happy to provide an additional way to link your accounts in QuickBooks Online.
Aside from the steps provided by my colleague above, you can change your email and user ID in your second company, and the accounts will automatically link. I've included some steps to change your email below.
That should do it. Once your user ID and passwords are the same for both accounts, you should be automatically linked. Feel free to check out more details in Change your email, user ID, or password for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and Qui....
Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns about this process. Take care and have a fantastic weekend!
It doesn't allow me to do that; when I put same email address (under user ID), get the error message below that User ID already taken, so can't hit save.
How do I fix that?
I want to make sure this is looked into, @ML45,
Requesting for an email change is the solution for this concern. The suggestions shared by my colleagues should help you process the request.
If you're unable to process it in your end, I recommend getting in touch with our Support Team. They can help update your account information so you can use one email for your QBO company files.
Regarding our support, we have made changes to our operation hours and our contact options. Our Live Help are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM til 3:00 PM on Saturdays.
Follow these steps to contact our support:
Kindly post here again for an update on what happens after calling support. I'll be right here if you need further help. Have a good one!

Do you have one QBSE account and one QBO account? Open a QBO Accountant account with a new email address to manage your both QBSE and QBO accounts easily as the workaround.
