Let me provide different steps to ensure you can change your accountant on your end efficiently.
If you're referring to changing your accountant using the standard QuickBooks version, you can complete the process by going to the Manage Users section. Before doing so please make sure that you're logged in as the Master or Company Admin so you can allow to perform this.
Here's how:
- Choose Manage users under the Gear icon.
- Tap on Accounting firms.
- Click Invite.
- Enter your new accountant's name and email, then hit Save.
- Your accountant will be sent an email with a link to sign in to your QBO company. Then, your accountant will be asked to create a user ID before signing in the first time, unless they already have an account with Intuit Business Services.
- Once your accountant signs in and accepts the invite, their status will change to Active.
- Click Next and Finish.
Once done, you can follow these steps on how to remove your old accountant:
- Go to the Gear icon, then select Manage Users.
- Find the accountant you want to remove.
- From the Action dropdown arrow, select Delete.
- Click the Delete button to confirm.
However, if you mean to update the previous accountant who is set as the primary admin in your account, you have to contact the said person. Then ask to transfer the role on your end. If you no longer have contact with that person, you can request a primary admin change. This way, you can transfer the access rights.
