I set up a company w/ Essentials. I did not like the format and upgraded to QB+. The QB+ upgrade retained the old Essentials format. How do I switch to the QB+ format?

Thank you for posting your concern about certain formats on your QBO company. Could you be more specific about the format that you're talking about? Also, did you just sign up for QBO Essentials and upgrade to QBO Plus? I'm trying to see if it's better to just sign up for a new QBO Plus instead, depending on the amount of data you have.

Thank you Jess for your quick response. The company I set up on QBO Essentials is [Removed by Moderator] MFV.  I did not like how Essentials organized the chart of accounts, etc. I use QBO Plus for two other business accounts and find it to be much more user-friendly; thus, I upgraded MFV from Essentials to Plus presuming that the upgrade would mirror the Plus format that I currently use for the other companies. After the upgrade, it appears that MFV is still stuck with the Essentials format. How do I switch to the Plus format?

 

Also, every time I log into the MFV account, it opens with the "Get Things Done" flowchart. This page is useless to me and a nuisance every time I open up the account. How do I open the account and go straight to the "Business Overview" page.

I want to make sure your concern about your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account's format is taken care of. That being said, I need to gather some information about what you're going through to help me get on the same page.

 

Which areas in QBO Plus still display the same format as in the Essentials version? Can you share some screenshots of your chart of accounts in the Essential and Plus versions, as well as other parts of your QuickBooks? I recommend that you grey personal data to keep your account safe and secure.

As you request, the following screenshot shows one of the issues I am dealing with:

  • Every time I launch Maine Furniture Ventures, it opens with the GET THINGS DONE/WORKSPACE process flow diagram. This is a nuisance and waste of time when I launch MFV. My other two QB+ accounts go straight to the BUSINESS OVERVIEW page. How do I get the MFV account to open up the BUSINESS OVERVIEW section at launch - not the WORKSPACE section?
