The option to import employees is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll.
For now, you'll have to manually set up them and add their info to the system. Let me show you how:
- Go to Payroll and select Employees.
- Click Add an employee.
- Add your employee’s name and email address.
- Choose Add employee.
- Select any section to add the remaining employee info.
- When finished adding info to a tab, click Save.
We can run some basic troubleshooting steps if you're unable to see the Payroll menu on the left panel. Sometimes accumulated cache in the system can cause unexpected behavior with the product.
To address the issue, let's open your account in a private window. This can help us verify if the problem is cache-related. Simply press the following shortcut keys to access this mode:
- CTrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox ).
- Control + Option + P (Safari).
If you're able to see the Payroll menu on the left panel, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This will delete temporarily stored files and free some space on your browser. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers if the issue persists.
