awhile ago I was able to rearrange my accounts for Bank Transaction downloads in order of their account numbers I assigned, just like my Chart of Accounts are listed. Then, stupidly, Quickbooks updates decided to completely disrupt that and now they are arranged in mo particular order. WHY!!!! Please provide a way to now fixed what you messed up.
Hi jonesdds,
It seems like you're asking about the order of the categories when categorizing transactions. If that's the case, there hasn't been an update to this feature. The categories are typically grouped according to the type of account they belong to, which helps in organizing and managing transactions effectively.
If you're referring to something else, please provide more details or consider adding a screenshot to help us better understand the issue.
You can always return to this conversation if you have further questions about accounts or online banking. Take care and have a great day!
No I never said anything about categories. In BANK TRANSACTIONS(where I upload acct transactions and review them) the order my accounts are in does not match the order in chart of accounts. Both the horizontal list of accounts and the drop down list of accounts are haphazardly arranged. Awhile back, few years ago, there was a way to rearrange the drop down area, it was ridiculously cumbersome and time consuming and now with an update QB has completely scrambled them. It's really kind of stupid that they aren't arranged the same as chart of accounts to begin with and it's impossible to find an account there.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, @jonesdds. We understand the importance of arranging bank transactions in the correct order based on their account numbers. Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available in QuickBooks.
I also encourage sending feedback to our product engineers in your QBO account regarding customizing packing slips to better suit the business needs of users in future updates. Here's how:
After this, let me include this article as future help on how to review downloaded bank and credit card transactions: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Thank you for the update, @jonesdds. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.
