Quickbooks 150222 Joint use, QB

Dear Quickbooks support, I am having trouble with sharing QB companies between the two user accounts on my HP  computer.

I have QB 2016. I am using it standalone, since I do not have internet access at home.

I have two users on my computer: JHCCPAStdUser and JHCCPAAdministrator (the administrator).

All of the company files I have are under the JHCCPAAdministrator. Currently I have no access to them using JHCCPAStdUser. I want to have access to the company files using both JHCCPAAdministrator and JHCCPAStdUser.

Under one company, 5033 Mustang Way, using JHCCPAAdministrator, I have gone into Company, set up users and passwords, set up users, and added JHCCPAStdUser with no password.

When I switch back to JHCCPAStdUser, I have no access to 5033 Mustang Way.

What am I doing wrong? How can I have access to 5033 Mustang Way company, from both users?

JC

Hey there, @coppens1

It's great to see you back in the Community. I can provide you with some details to help get this problem fixed.

You'll need to ensure that you're hosting your company data in multi-user mode. Here's a guide to assist you and show you steps:

Hosting your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop

If you need assistance from our Customer Support Team with this process, you'll need to upgrade to a supported version of the QuickBooks Desktop
