Looking to completely close my business next month. Is there a way to keep all your information for tax purposes without paying subscription fees.

Export your data to QB Desktop file format. You can utilize the trial license to open it later.

We respect your decision, @corybuckleaksloc. I've got some details to help you with your concern about what will happen to your data after cancelling your subscription in QuickBooks Online. 

Once you’ve cancel your account, we hang on to your data for one year for both paid and trial subscription. If you wish to come back, you can take up where you left off. Then, we delete the data after that.

With regards to your data, I’d suggest exporting them before canceling your old subscription. This way, you still have references and records of them. Here’s how: 

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Under Tools, click Export data.
3. Select Reports or Lists.
4. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
5. Select Export to Excel.
