Just moved QB Enterprise Accountant 18.0 to the new computer at my son's business. It says I need a validation code. Tried calling QB but can only get a bot. Chat message doesn't work. My son bought this version on Ebay 2 years ago.
I'd like to inform you, PattiB2021, that discontinued versions no longer provide access to live customer support. However, please rest assured that I'm available to assist you with the activation process.
When installing QuickBooks Desktop, we'll need to input the product and license numbers. These codes are used to validate and authenticate your copy, ensuring that you have a legitimate and properly licensed edition of the software.
Since you bought the program from eBay, you'll want to look for the sticker on the original CD envelope or check the purchase confirmation emails you receive. Furthermore, if you still have QuickBooks Desktop installed on your old machine, let's open it and then press the F2 key. This should populate the Product Information window.
Alternatively, we can log in to the Customer Account Maintenance Portal to view all your registered apps and subscriptions. Here's how:

KlentB, thanks for the reply. Here is the dilemma...I have the License number and the product number from the versionwe have on the old computer. We migrated to a new computer. QB now wants a validation code because it says we have reached too many users.
QB Enterprise Accountant 2018 was purchased from Ebay as a download two years ago and the owner cannot locate any original emails from Ebay with a code.
What can we do??
Thanks so much! PattiB
I want to elaborate on some details of how you can get the validation code, Patti.
Generally, if you've previously received an email with the validation code from one of our support representatives at the time you purchased QuickBooks, you'll want to check your active email address and check it out in your inbox.
But if you're unable to find the information, as @KlentB mentioned, you can log in to CAMPs (Customer Account Maintenance Portal) and check if the validation code is registered to it. Check out the steps outlined above.
In the event that you're unable to still find it, reach out to our QuickBooks Desktop Support team so they can provide you with the validation code. Here's how to reach them:

Can you login the CAMPS as the Primary Contact and find your license code there?
Thank you so much for the reply. Unfortunately this is more complicated by the fact the when the purchase was made for QB Enterprise Accountant 2018, the Ebay seller must have sold the same lice number 10 times, as there are 10 users. When we did the installation 2 years ago, it never asked to set up an Intuit account. So, I do not have an Intuit account to sign into.
I am going to try to create one and see if I can go from there.
Knowing the license number and product number are not enough. Support will only acknowledge your license if you can access your CAMPS as the Primary Contact. How many user do you need to access your file? Only single user?
Thanks so much...the owner of the business had to be up and running this morning so he has purchased an upgraded version of Enterprise.
We will install and load the backup.
Thank you!
