Our new Timecard only user can't login. Error message: "We can't find a user ID associated with this account" when the user is clearly active in the company file.

Can a new user use the app on his phone to enter time? Why can't my new user access his account for Timecard entry?

Good afternoon, @kkeegan. I'm glad to see you're back in the Community and hope you had a restful weekend. I'd love to help you out with your employee's issue. 

 

Employees can definitely enter their time within the app. First I want to make sure we're on the same page about what you're experiencing. Has the employee already been sent an invite? Are they getting this error when they try to sign in for the first time?

Now I have this issue since last week! I'm signed in on my phone, but getting error message in the web page.

Let's make sure to fix the error so your employees can enter time, SINAN1978.

 

Generally, your employees can enter their hours with QuickBooks Time if you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium and Elite. You'll have to make sure that your employees have accepted the invite so they'll be able to access the timecard entry. If not, you can resend the invitation. To do this follow, the steps below: 

  1. Select Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select the employee you need to resend the invitation to.
  3. In the Personal info section, Select Resend next to We’ve invited [employee] to view their pay stubs and W-2s online with QuickBooks Workforce.
  4. Click Done. The employee will receive a new invitation.

However, if your employee is still experiencing issues in logging in, I suggest reaching out to our support team so they can double-check if the login invite was properly accepted by the employee. They have the tools to securely access your account in a secure environment. Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter your concern.
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback
