Primary Admin role

I have been using QB Desktop for about 7-8 years. My current version is Desktop Pro 2024 and my subscription is paid through next month (April). I understand that it will be discontinued after May 31, 2025.

 

Earlier this week when tried to open the program I got a pop-up message indicating that the Primary Administrator for that Intuit account was for an email address for which I no longer have access. It was an old email address in a company that I sold last year. As a result, I seem to be locked out of the program and don’t know how to edit or update the Primary Administrator.

 

I imagine I should try to contact someone in the Intuit support department to resolve this issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Your suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

Intuit will support QB Desktop 2024 until May 2027 as long as you pay the renewal fee. You will need to contact the new owner of the company so you can transfer Primary Contact access.

 

Otherwise you may have 2 options:

1. Purchase another QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus license to access your company file.

2. If you don't need to use any add-ons, switch to old QB Desktop with a non subscription license.

You can access the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) to update your email address, Nancy2235. Let me break down the steps.

 

The Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) is a page where you can manage your subscriptions, login information, emails, and other details related to your Intuit account. To change your email address, here's what you'll need to do:

 

  1. Go to https://camps.intuit.com/.
  2. Enter your Email/User ID and click Continue.
  3. Sign in with your Intuit Account info.
  4. In Manage your QuickBooks, select the product or service you would like to manage.
  5. Choose the dropdown beside the company name.
  6. Select Edit Login, then go to the Profile tab.
  7. Click Edit in the Email address field.
  8. Enter your new email address in the Email address and Confirm email address fields.
  9. Enter your user ID password in the Password field.
  10. Choose Save.

 

After this, an email verification will be sent out to your new email address. Please check your email inbox and open the verification email by clicking on Verify my email. Once you see the prompt Email address verified, select Continue to complete the email change.

However, if you're unable to update your information through CAMPs, I recommend contacting our Customer Live Support Team. They have the tools to access your account in a secure environment and can conduct a screen-sharing session to help you update your email address.

 

To connect with them, simply go to the Help menu at the top of your QuickBooks Desktop account. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us and type in your question, keyword, or topic.

Thanks, MirriamM, but I'm locked out of my Desktop account and I cannot access the Help/Contact Us thread that you suggested. 

 

Is there another way to contact support?

You can try to contact Support via chat, but I believe they will only offer you to switch to QB Online. They will not help you if you ask about QB Desktop since you are not the Primary Contact.

Otherwise, you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA if you prefer to keep using QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or switching to old QB Desktop with a non subscription license.
